Training
• Argentina (1991): Organization and conduct of a training course on Tillage Systems, held at Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Argentina attended by 28 professionals from 10 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.
• Nigeria (1997): TCDC Training Course on “Soil Management and Conservation with Special Emphasis in Conservation Effective Tillage Methods” held in Ibadan, Nigeria from 16 April to 1 May 1997. Co-ordinated, organised, and participated in the Workshop. Reviewed, finalised the proceedings and the final text for printing.
• North Africa and Middle East countries (2002): Organization and conduct of a training course on International Training Course from 26 May to 1 June 2002, to bring into focus the problems and potentials of the drylands of the North African countries along the Mediterranean margins and in the Middle East. In the event, participants were from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Eritrea. The course was hosted by the Experimental Station for Land and Irrigation Techniques, of the COnsorzio Techniche IRigue – CO.T.IR at Vasto, Chieti, Italy
• RELACO (South America): Support to the Latin American Conservation Agriculture Network through a letter of agreement for the publication of regular newsletters and maintenance of a RELACO internet homepage.
• Costa Rica (1989): Organization and conduct of an International Consultation for developing a National Plan on Soil Conservation for Costa Rica.
• Chile (1992): Organization and conduct of a workshop on the Application of a GIS to evaluate actual and potential erosion for Project GCP/RLA/107/JPN attended by 16 professionals from 6 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica and Paraguay.
• Paraguay - Brazil (1993): Organization and conduct of a workshop on Participative Planning of Soil and Water Conservation for Project GCP/RLA/107/JPN. Thirty-two professionals from 14 national institutions in six countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica and Paraguay) attended.
• Venezuela (1993): Organise and conduct, together with FONAIAP the 2nd Biannual Workshop of the Latin American Network on Conservation Tillage (RELACO) "Effect of Tillage Systems on Land Productivity and Degradation" held in Acarigua-Guanare, Venezuela from 15 to 19 November 1993. Twenty-seven professionals, from 17 national institutions in 9 countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, República Dominicana y Venzuela) attended the Workshop.
• Rome (1994): Participant on informal workshop on "Land/Water Integration and River Basin management" held in 31 January to 2 February 1994. FAO Headquarters, Rome.
• Brazil (1994): Organization and conduct of a workshop on Ecological-Economic Zoning: An Essential Tool for Sustainable Development under the auspices of CEMAA, and supported by Project FAO GCP/RLA/118/NET and UNDP RLA/92/G 32. The workshop held in Manaus, Brazil from 25-30 April 1994 was attended by 105 professionals from all Amazonian countries, except Venezuela.
• Colombia (1994) FAO representative at the at Expert Consultation on land Quality Indicators organised by the World Bank in CIAT Headquarters, Cali, Colombia.
• Costa Rica (1995) organise and conduct, together with The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Costa Rica (MAG) and the Research Institute of Agroecological Resources of the National Fund for Agriculture Research (FONAIAP) of Venezuela, the III Biannual Workshop of the Latin American Network on Conservation Tillage (RELACO) "Sustainable Agriculture in Steep Lands: The Key role of Conservation Tillage" held in San Jose, Costa Rica from 4 to 8 December 1995.

ACT (Africa):
• Spreading the concepts of conservation tillage practices in small holder farms of south-eastern Africa. A first step was an international workshop “Conservation Tillage for Sustainable Agriculture” held in Harare, Zimbabwe from 22 to 27 June 1998. Publication Proceedings “Conservation Tillage for Sustainable Agriculture”.
• Initiation of an informal network including 14 countries (Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe). Support to the African Conservation Tillage Network through a letter of agreement for the preparation of newsletters and preparations of databases and other material.
o In January/February 2000 organise a mission accompanied by two Brazilian CA-experts visited 3 African countries promoting CA. This TCDC activity motivated SFI to consider CA as a mayor component on its National Action Plans in the countries visited. (Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia).
o In June 2001 another co-ordination meeting in Arusha/Tanzania was supported through a LoA.

Central Asia:
• From 20 to 24 September 1999 an international workshop with the theme "Conservation Tillage: a Viable Option for Sustainable Agriculture in Eurasian" will be held in the Barayev Kazak Research Institute of Grain Farming in Shortandy near the new capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.
• Support to the Eurasian Conservation Agriculture Network (ECAN) for organising a regional workshop on conservation tillage practices in the Altai region, Siberia.

South Asia:
• International Workshop on Conservation Agriculture for Food Security and Environment Protection in Rice-Wheat Cropping Systems held at Lahore from 6 to 9 February, 2001. FAO was one of the major sponsors for the workshop and instrumental in the organisation and design of the workshop programme.

Europe:
• Vienna, Austria (1989): Resource person for the FAO/IAEA Research Co-ordination Meeting on Isotopic studies on increasing and stabilising plant productivity in low phosphate and semiarid and subhumid soils of the tropics and subtropics".
• The 3rd of the European Conservation Agriculture Federation (ECAF) Co-ordination meeting organised by Prof. Gottlieb Basch, Professor of the Crop Science Department of the University of Evora was held in Evora (Portugal) on November 25-28, 2000. One member of CA-workgroup participated.
• The 4th ECAF Co-ordination meeting organised by Mr. Klaus D. Johansen, Head of Department of the Landbrugs-Rådvigning Østjylland was held in Horsten (Denmark) on June 24-27, 2001. One member of CA-workgroup participated.

Global
• Rome (1996) organise workshop entitled Land Quality Indicators for Sustainable Resource Management held in FAO Headquarters, Rome in January, 1996 was attended by FAO technical staff and invited participants from the Agriculture Canada, International Soil Reference and Information Centre, United Nations Environment Programme, World Bank, and private consultants.
• The 1st World Congress on Conservation Agriculture jointly organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Conservation Agriculture Federation (ECAF) was held in Madrid, Spain in October 1st-5th 2001. The FAO CA workgroup supported the workshop through a letter of agreement with ECAF financially as well as technically through collaboration in the organization and technical committees, in the workshop co-ordination itself and in the technical programme through presentations. The FAO ADG AG (Fresco) gave a keynote speech, three other members of the CA workgroup participated.
