• (1991-1996) Support to the Network on Erosion-Induced Loss in Soil Productivity where scientist form Brazil, Thailand, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, China, Colombia, Italy, Indonesia, Mexico, Mozambique, Paraguay, Spain, Sweden, Tanzania and United Kingdom participated.

• (1996) Focal point for Land quality indicator. Organiser of the workshop entitled Land Quality Indicators for Sustainable Resource Management held in FAO Headquarters, Rome in January, 1996 was attended by FAO technical staff and invited participants from the Agriculture Canada, International Soil Reference and Information Centre, United Nations Environment Programme, World Bank, and private consultants.

• (1998) Serving as one of the organisers of the Informal consultation, held at FAO in Rome, on 19 and 20 November 1998 together with WB, donor countries, CGIAR Institutes, private sector, African countries. Proceedings edited and published in World Soil Resources Reports No. 85 "Soil Fertility Initiative for Sub-Saharan Africa" (ISBN 92-5-104298-5)

• (2002) Task force member for the Land Degradation Assessment for Drylands (LADA), the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded Project.
